Devotees participated in Quran recitation, Chadar Poshida and Mehfil-e-Sama

Prayagraj: The 39th annual Urs Sharif was celebrated with full devotion, respect and spirituality on Wednesday, June 3, at the city’s ancient spiritual center, Darbar-e-Safavi, Shahganj. On the occasion of the Urs, various religious and spiritual rituals continued throughout the day, in which a large number of devotees, including those from the city and far-flung areas, participated and expressed their faith.

This annual Urs is celebrated in memory of Hazrat Maulana Mushfiddin Qibla Mehboobullah Shah Almaroof Hakim Mohammad Hamid (may Allah be pleased with him). The Urs began with Quran recitation, Fatiha recitation, and prayers for good after the Fajr prayer.

At around 9 am, the rituals of bath and covering the body with a sheet were performed in the presence of devotees at Purana Kala Danda in the Dargah premises. After this, the flow of people paying their respects at the Dargah continued throughout the day. As an important stage of the Urs, after the Zuhr prayer, a gathering was organized, in which a spiritual atmosphere was created through Sufi Kalam and Manqabats. After this, at 3:55 pm, the rituals of Kul Sharif and Fatiha were performed and special prayers were offered for peace, brotherhood, progress and well-being of humanity in the country.

All the rituals of the Urs were completed under the patronage of the Sajjadanashin of Darbar-e-Safavi, Alhaj Hakim Rizwan Hamid Safavi. After the Kul Sharif, Langar-e-Aam and Tabarruk were distributed among the pilgrims and devotees. On this occasion, Sajjadanashins of various Khanqahs, Ulema-e-Kiram, Muridin Mohammad Mehboob (Dabar), Mohammad Akram and a large number of devotees were present and the Dargah premises remained filled with liveliness and spirituality till late evening.
