Prayagraj: 15 UP Battalion NCC successfully conducted an Associate NCC Officers (ANO) Conference at the Battalion Headquarters to review and streamline the forthcoming NCC enrolment process for the academic session 2026–27. The conference witnessed enthusiastic participation from ANOs representing affiliated schools and colleges under the Battalion.

The conference was chaired by the Commanding Officer, Col Ritu Srivastava Rawat, who emphasized the vital role of ANOs in identifying, motivating and mentoring deserving students to join the National Cadet Corps. The Commanding Officer highlighted that transparent, merit-based and timely enrolment is essential for maintaining the high standards of training and discipline in NCC.

Detailed deliberations were held on the revised enrolment schedule, eligibility criteria, documentation requirements, physical fitness standards, medical examination, online enrolment procedures and timely submission of cadet nominal rolls. Special emphasis was laid on ensuring adequate representation of both Senior and Junior Divisions/Wings while encouraging greater participation of girl cadets in line with the continued expansion of NCC across the country.

The ANOs were also briefed on their responsibilities in conducting awareness campaigns within educational institutions, organizing counselling sessions for prospective cadets and ensuring strict adherence to enrolment guidelines. Measures for improving institutional training, strengthening cadet retention and enhancing participation in camps and national-level competitions were also discussed.

The conference concluded with an interactive session during which ANOs shared suggestions and best practices for increasing enrolment and improving the quality of NCC training. The Commanding Officer appreciated the dedication of all ANOs and expressed confidence that the coordinated efforts of educational institutions and the Battalion would ensure a successful and transparent enrolment drive, informed Wg Cdr Debartho Dhar, PRO & Spokesperson,
