Prayagraj: A press conference was held at Hotel Arcadia, Maldahiya, Varanasi, regarding the installation ceremony of Lions Club International District 321E. Lalu Mittal, the division’s chief media in-charge, stated that approximately 500 members, along with the Deputy District President, First and Second, will be sworn in. Approximately 800 members from across the country are attending the grand event at Nandgaon Resort. One hundred and fifty disabled individuals will be provided with tricycles and free sewing machines for women’s empowerment. Other equipment will also be distributed to those in need. Addressing the press conference, District President Uday Chandani stated that Lions International is the world’s largest charitable organization, operating in approximately 210 countries. It was founded in Chicago, USA, on June 7, 1917. Today, it has approximately 1,400,000 members worldwide.

The organization is engaged in social service and periodically updates its international programs to meet global needs. Today, we have eight international programs that address both public philanthropy and contemporary needs and treatment.

In his address, Umesh Kakkar, the first division president, stated that in 1925, the Lions Club took on the challenge of eradicating blindness, and today, we have become the largest organization worldwide serving the visually impaired. We have established numerous eye hospitals and organized cataract camps.

The second district president stated that the Lions Club has always contributed significantly to disaster management and during times of global disaster. The Lions Club is also actively engaged in cancer prevention. A group of 30 members from Prayagraj will also depart for Varanasi today morning.
