Prayagraj: The School Transport Committee was newly constituted at Girls’ High School and College, Prayagraj, to ensure the safety and well-being of students travelling to and from school. The first meeting of the Committee was held on Tuesday. The meeting commenced with a prayer led by the chairperson, Rev. Dr. V. Eusebius. Thereafter, Saxena welcomed the members and briefed them on the purpose of the committee. As the school does not provide transportation facilities, the members reviewed the private modes of transport used by students and the measures required for their safe commuting.
Nikita Srivastava, ACP (Traffic), attended the meeting and provided guidance on traffic management and student safety. It was suggested that the registration details and number plates of e-rickshaws/vans/buses and the driving licenses of drivers be verified regularly. The importance of sharing safety advisories with drivers and parents was also emphasized.
The school’s existing separate arrival and dispersal timings and the use of loudspeakers for traffic management outside the school premises were noted. The Committee decided to continue the existing measures in coordination with parents, drivers, and the concerned authorities. The concerned members will follow up on the verification of transport and driver documents and the dissemination of safety advisories.
