Prayagraj: Angered by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi staging a sit-in at the Parliament Street Police Station in Delhi, demanding the registration of an FIR in connection with the pellet gun incident involving students at Jantar Mantar, Congress workers from the city, district and Kaushambi staged a protest in the evening at the statue of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar located at High Court.

The protest was led by City Congress Committee President Fuzail Hashmi. During the protest, Congress workers raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and the Delhi Government. Terming the incident as anti-democratic, they demanded the resignation of the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Ashfaq Ahmad, Gaurav Pandey, Kishore Varshney, Harikesh Tripathi, Sanjay Tiwari, Parvez Siddiqui, Dr. Jagat Bahadur Singh, Arshad Ali, Uday Yadav, Afroz Ahmad, Rajesh Sahni, Abid Khan and many others were present.
