Prayagraj: Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Rajarshi Tandon Mahila Mahavidyalaya (a constituent college of Allahabad University), Malviya Nagar, Prayagraj,. On this occasion, the national anthem, Vande Mataram, was sung, followed by the flag hoisting by the college’s Principal, Prof. Ajay Prakash Khare. In his address, Principal Prof. Khare stated that independence was not easily achieved; it required the sacrifices of martyrs and the continuous struggle of freedom fighters. Since independence, India has made tremendous progress. It is self-sufficient in food grains, has established IITs and IIMs, and has also made its mark in space. India’s UPI system is benefiting a large number of people, and many countries are adopting it. Today is the time for Gen G and Gen Alpha, but we must distinguish between freedom and licentiousness, and we must sacrifice our own interests for the sake of national interest. He wished the students a bright future and infused them with renewed energy with his inspiring message.
