Photography is the art of seeing: Prof. Akhilesh Kumar Dubey

Digital editing enhances photography: Virendra Singh Adhikari

Prayagraj: A national workshop on “Photography” was held at the regional center of Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University in Prayagraj. In this workshop, New Delhi-based photography mentor Virendra Singh Adhikari taught participants the art of photography both theoretically and practically. Presiding over the inaugural session, the center’s academic director, Professor Akhilesh Kumar Dubey, said that photographers must master the art of observation. To become a good photographer, one must develop a sense of vision and patience beyond the camera and technology.
In the technical session of the workshop, photography mentor Virendra Singh Adhikari explained in detail about focus, light, selection, placement isolation, rule of thirds and composition rule shape etc. in photography. He said that photography can be further improved through digital editing. The role of light is important for the camera. Light also affects the color. Light is a co-element, which focuses the pictures. The camera also works in the same way as the eyes work. Apart from this, distance is also necessary for focus. Thus, light, distance and size all three are important for focus.
He further explained the wavelength, size, and length of light, brightness, and color. He explained how to isolate images based on different subjects, saying that using this, backgrounds can be separated as needed. He also explained about adding layers. He said that multiple layers can be added simultaneously to focus on all areas. This means that multilayered images can be viewed repeatedly or for a long time. A question-and-answer session was also held during the workshop, where students asked questions related to the camera and practiced.
In this workshop, Mr. Yogesh Kumar Yadav (Canon Technical Specialist) from UP East explained the technical aspects of photography to the students. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Akhtar Alam, coordinator of the photography workshop, and the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Yasharth Manjul.
