Intensive ticket checking campaign in Prayagraj division, 69k passengers charged in Sept
Under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager/Prayagraj, Mr. Rajneesh Agrawal, and the direction of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager/Coaching, Mr. Harimohan, a special, extensive ticket checking campaign was conducted during the month of August. Prayagraj Division is continuously taking action to provide better facilities to passengers and ensure that passengers travel with valid tickets. During the intensive ticket checking drive conducted from September 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026, action was taken against ticketless travel, irregular travel, unbooked luggage, smoking and littering. A total of 69,640 passengers were charged during the drive and a fine of over Rs. 6,35,57,235 was collected.
Under the campaign, a fine of Rs. 3,04,88,742 was collected from 26,900 passengers travelling without tickets, Rs. 3,01,61,791 from 38,871 passengers travelling irregularly, Rs. 26,741 in 33 cases of unbooked luggage and Rs. 28,79,961 from 3,386 passengers found smoking and littering. The Railway Administration appeals to all respected passengers to travel with valid tickets and to follow railway rules. Passengers are requested to maintain cleanliness on railway premises and in trains, to dispose of garbage in designated bins, and to immediately report any inconvenience or irregularity to railway officials. Prayagraj Division is always committed to the convenience, safety and pleasant journey of the passengers and such intensive ticket checking campaigns will continue in the future also.
