Advocate Manish Dwivedi raised demand from state government for allotment of free chambers
Prayagraj: Advocate Manish Dwivedi of the Allahabad High Court has protested the requirement to open bank accounts for chambers, and the termination of advocates’ rolls for those who fail to obtain chambers, or for those who lack sufficient funds in their accounts for three months’ outstanding dues. On Saturday, Advocate Manish Dwivedi submitted a letter to Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya regarding the allocation of free chambers. Through the letter, Advocate Manish Dwivedi demanded that the newly constructed lawyer chambers be allocated free of charge to all lawyers. He demanded that the state government allocate funds for lawyer chambers, and therefore, they should be allocated chambers free of charge. Advocates strongly demand that they be exempted from the monthly rent charged for chambers. Junior lawyers, in particular, are unable to pay the substantial amount.
Advocate Manish Dwivedi demands that chambers be allocated free of charge, as many junior lawyers are unable to afford the fees charged by the High Court administration. After reviewing the letter, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya assured that he would discuss the issue with the Chief Minister regarding the free allotment of chambers. He stated that the matter is under the knowledge of both him and the government. It will be considered, as lawyers are vigilant guardians of society. It is noteworthy that previously, Advocate Manish Dwivedi submitted a memorandum to the Registrar General of the Allahabad High Court, Manjeet Singh Sheoran, demanding the allotment of free chambers.
