Prayagraj: The two-day national seminar on promoting women safety and empowerment organized by the Directorate of Research at Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Science (SHUATS) concluded on Thursday. The chief guest of the closing ceremony was Dr. Hemlata Pant of CMP Degree College. Expressing her views on women empowerment, she said that women have to be empowered and strengthened through training and awareness.
Director Research Dr. SD McCarty honoured the chief guest by giving a memento.
Dr. Awadhesh Kumar Mishra of Christ Church College Kanpur said that women should be provided with skills, education and resources that can enable them to protect themselves and claim their rights.
Pratibha Arya of Allahabad University highlighted women’s self-defense, financial literacy.
Pratiksha Tripathi of Bhagalpur University expressed her views on a multi-dimensional approach to improve women’s safety. Dr. Pratibha Tiwari, Dr. Hira Lakshmi, Dr. Nilotapama Singh, Dr. Anushree Shukla, Dr. Bhavana Ghosh, Dr. Aditi Agarwal, Namita Jaiswal, Prof. Munish, Prof. Luv Kesarwani etc. played a major role in the successful organization of the seminar.
