Prayagraj: Bharatiya Janata Party organised the singing of Vande Mataram song with enthusiasm and joy across the country. In this series, under the leadership of Prayagraj Metropolitan President Sanjay Gupta, the song of faith and devotion of patriots was sung with determination by the workers, public representatives, students and dignitaries at the historic Subhash Square of the city, paying homage to Bankim Chandra Chatterjee and Bharat Mata.
Speaking as the chief guest on this occasion, Sohanlal Shrimali, Vice President of the State Backward Commission, said in his powerful address that Vande Mataram is not just a song, it is a mantra of renunciation, austerity, sacrifice, energy, and inspiration. He said that this song played a leading role in freeing India from the shackles of British slavery and has been a powerful medium for energizing the people. Upon hearing it, people embraced death by smiling and kissing the noose. Indians will always be indebted to this song and its creator, the revered Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.
Metropolitan President Sanjay Gupta said on this occasion that the song “Sankalp Se Siddhi” (Resolve to Achievement), composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee on November 7, 1875, is a mantra. Each word of it fills workers with energy, inspiration, and a spirit of patriotism. On November 7, the 150th anniversary of the Vande Mataram song, the entire atmosphere was filled with patriotism as workers held the tricolor and chanted “Maa Bharati ki Jai” (Victory to Mother India).
