Bara/Lalapur/Lohgara: A pump canal was built on the Yamuna River in Paduwa village to irrigate the fields of farmers in the Bara tehsil area. Renovation work is underway after several years. Following complaints from farmers, the ADM (Supply) and the Executive Engineer (Baghla) of the Lift Irrigation Department inspected the Paduwa Pump Canal and Bhodi Pump Canal. Following a complaint from social worker Dinesh Tiwari, District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma asked ADM (Supply) Vijay Kumar to personally investigate and submit a report. On Thursday, Executive Engineer (Lift Irrigation) Gaurav Chaturvedi, Assistant Engineer (Amit Kumar Singh), and Junior Engineer (Dharam Das) visited the Paduwa Pump Canal to assess the progress of the renovation work. Complainant Dinesh Tiwari was also present and questioned the quality of the renovation work with officials. Dinesh Tiwari stated that 70% of the farmers in Bara tehsil depend on the Paduwa and Bhodi pump houses, and that farmers are not receiving water on time. The renovations have been ongoing for two years, and the pump renovations remain incomplete. What exactly has been changed with thirty-five crore rupees that is not visible? A complainant from the department even argued with an officer on this issue. Village head Dipesh Mishra said, “Sir, the pipeline was repaired, but water is still leaking continuously. This type of renovation will cause problems for farmers.” ADM Supply Vijay stated that the government’s intention is to complete quality renovation work on time, and an investigation is being conducted on the District Magistrate’s instructions.
