Reunion with Nostalgia and Gratitude
Prayagraj: The alumni of the B.Sc. Bio Group (1977–79 batch) of Ewing Christian College (ECC) gathered for a memorable reunion that beautifully rekindled bonds formed nearly five decades ago. The event was not merely a get-together, but a heartfelt celebration of shared memories, lifelong friendships, and gratitude towards their alma mater.
The programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp, setting a dignified and nostalgic tone for the evening. A soulful flute recital by Mr. Amit Srivastava gracefully opened the event, transporting attendees back to their student days in the classrooms and laboratories of ECC.
One of the most touching moments of the evening was a heartfelt address accompanied by a melodious song presented by alumnus Anup Goel, which deeply resonated with the audience. The highlight of the reunion was an enchanting musical performance by renowned singer and pride of Prayagraj, Bhupendra Shukla. His captivating songs and ghazals beautifully captured the emotions, journeys, and experiences of the past four decades, leaving the audience spellbound.
A special segment of the event included the presentation of mementoes and floral tributes, during which alumni shared glimpses of their life journeys since graduating from ECC. Though their professional paths varied, all reflected fondly on their common beginnings within the same college corridors.
A particularly emotional moment came as alumni revisited their old classrooms and laboratory benches, reminiscing about their student life. For those cherished moments, they were once again students — free from titles and responsibilities — united by nostalgia.
The message conveyed by the Principal of Ewing Christian College warmly welcomed the alumni and reaffirmed the enduring bond between the institution and its former students.
The reunion was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Anoop Goel, Dinesh, Harish, Surendra and Jyoti the organizing team. Special appreciation was extended to batchmate Anil Tiwari, former Head of the Botany Department at ECC, who gave vote of thanks for the event. The evening concluded on a note of gratitude and hope, with alumni expressing their desire to continue meeting, celebrating, and cherishing the journey that began in 1977.
