Prayagraj: Rajnikant Srivastava, State Coordinator of the Bharatiya Janata Party NGO Cell, said that the intense heat is already felt as soon as we go to the park in the morning. The rising temperatures in the coming days will cause difficulties not only for humans but also for the animals and birds living nearby. The scorching sun and limited water sources make the lives of these mute creatures even more challenging. In times like these, even small efforts from society can prove life-saving for them.
He appealed to people to keep an earthen pot, water pot, or container filled with water outside their homes, on rooftops, in parks, near temples, under the shade of trees, or in safe areas of the neighborhood. When a thirsty bird finds relief by drinking that water or an animal quenches its thirst, it reflects our sensitivity to humanity and nature.
He said that Indian culture has always preached compassion and coexistence with nature and living creatures. If everyone places a water container in or around their home, this small gesture can bring about significant positive change. This is not just a service, but a green good deed that demonstrates our responsibility to the environment and living creatures.
He appealed to all the district coordinators and co-coordinators of Kashi province to contact the committees in their respective districts and run a campaign to install drinking water stalls and water containers for animals and birds.
He also stated that social workers, volunteers, or NGOs who take an active role in this work and arrange drinking water for animals and birds will be honored. All such workers can send information, along with photos, of their work to the helpline number 9415 970989. He said, “This summer, let us all pledge to provide water for every living thing around us and carry forward this tradition of social sensitivity.”
