Prayagraj: A 10-day training program was inaugurated under the SRU scheme. The chief guest was welcomed by the institute’s director, Mr. A.K. Mishra, by presenting a bouquet of flowers. On this occasion, the chief guest, Mr. Vishal Verma, Handicraft Promotion Officer, Prayagraj Service Center, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, lit the lamp. A total of 30 artisans are participating in this training program, who will be trained in the appliqué artisan job role. This program is being conducted by the Jan Evam Krishi Vikas Sansthan and is being sponsored by the Handicraft and Carpet Sector Skill Council, New Delhi.

In his address, Mr. Vishal Verma stated that this training program will be very useful for craftspeople and will help them develop their skills. He added that the handicraft industry is an important part of India’s cultural heritage and we must work to promote it.

Mr. A.K. Mishra, Director of the Institute for People’s and Agricultural Development, stated that this training program will provide artisans with training in applied artisan job roles, enabling them to develop their skills and gain employment opportunities. Present on the occasion were trainer Ms. Archana Patel, Institute officials, staff, and trainees.
