Prayagraj: On the occasion of World Earth Day 2026, various activities related to public awareness and environmental protection were successfully organized by the Municipal Corporation Prayagraj at various places in the city from 22 April to 23 April 2026. The programs organized during this period included capacity building workshops for approximately 500 sanitation workers, environmental seminars, public awareness rallies, and school painting competitions. More than 700 citizens, students, and staff actively participated in all these events, spreading the message of earth conservation to the public.

It should be known that the main objective of these programmes was to increase awareness among citizens about the environment, promote cleanliness and ensure public participation towards a green city. In the same sequence, in the forest area developed by Miyawaki method at Samogra, Naini. Under the chairmanship of Honorable Mayor Shri Umesh Chandra Ganesh Kesarwani ji and under the leadership of Additional Municipal Commissioner Shri Deependra Kumar Yadav. Bhoomi Pujan, seminar and tree plantation program were organized.

The program was graced by the presence of councilors, local public representatives, ZSO Praveen Ji, SFI Shanti Swaroop Gupta Ji, IEC Team Shrishti Waste Management Service Pvt. Ltd., IEC Head Krishna Kumar Maurya, Ashok Patel, Safai Nayak, Safai Mitra and local villagers. On this occasion, the Honorable Mayor said in his address that 2,19,753 trees planted using the Miyawaki method at Samogra Naini have now blossomed into a dense forest. The Municipal Corporation of Prayagraj is continuously working to eliminate garbage mountains and develop green spaces in the city. More than 300,000 trees have been planted since the Maha Kumbh Mela.
