Prayagraj: An important meeting was held on 7th May under the chairmanship of Mr. Rana Chawla, Chairman of the National Organization All India Chemist Association and Regional Organization OCD UP and President of Prayag Chemist and Druggist Association Retail.
It was unanimously decided at the meeting that the entire pharmaceutical industry in Prayagraj would close its shops on May 20th to register its protest. Furthermore, all work would continue as per the AIOCD’s orders. The main objective of the meeting was to discuss the problems faced by pharmaceutical companies across the country and to formulate a strategy for the nationwide shutdown.
The following topics were discussed in detail in the meeting: Operation of illegal and unregulated online pharmacies, unfair pricing of medicines by big corporate e-commerce companies, demand for withdrawal of Notification GSR 817 (E) dated 28.08.2018, demand for withdrawal of Notification GSR 220 (E) dated 26.03.2020, concern was expressed over the serious threat to public health posed by unregulated e-pharmacies
Decision: In protest of the above problems, all pharmaceutical businesses in Prayagraj will be completely closed on May 20. This strike has the full support of all chemist brothers.

Ministers – Mr. Monu Chawla and Mr. Hrithik Dwivedi, Media Incharge – Mr. Rajneesh Soni. Apart from these, many eminent pharmaceutical businessmen/chemist brothers were present.
