Students Receive Guidance on Education, Technology, and Self-Reliance at Induction Meeting Held at Alld Degree College
Prayagraj: An “Induction Meeting and Orientation Programme” for newly admitted students of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was organized on Sunday at the study centre located in Allahabad Degree College, Prayagraj. A large number of students participated enthusiastically in the programme. The newly enrolled students were provided detailed information about the university’s academic system, online services, and examination procedures. Faculty members and invited guests guided the students and acquainted them with the key features of the distance learning system.
The programme aimed to familiarize students with IGNOU’s teaching methodology, study materials, digital platforms, online classes, assignment process, and examination system. Students were also informed in detail about the use of e-Gyankosh, online study resources, and the procedure for filling examination forms.
The programme was chaired by the Principal of Allahabad Degree College, Prof. Atul Kumar Singh. Addressing the students, he said that distance education has emerged as an effective medium of learning in the present era and that IGNOU is providing students with opportunities to move forward with self-confidence and self-reliance.
Chief Guest Dr. Nalin Kumar Jain advised students to maintain discipline, manage time effectively, and make proper use of technological resources. He emphasized that continuous study and dedication are essential for success.
Guest of Honour Martand Singh stated that institutions like IGNOU are playing a significant role in making education accessible to every section of society. Dr. Arvind Mishra, while motivating the students, said that self-learning and digital skills have become the keys to success in the modern education system.
Study Centre Coordinator Dr. Anand Kumar provided detailed information regarding IGNOU’s admission and study processes. He explained the online admission procedure, study material access, assignment submission, examination applications, digital platforms, and various academic activities of the study centre in a simple and practical manner. He also encouraged students to focus on regular study and timely preparation.
During the interaction session, several students raised their queries, which were addressed by the experts. The participants described the programme as a positive and inspiring beginning to their academic journey. The programme was conducted by Dr. Namit Kumar Singh, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Girish Kumar. A large number of students and academic associates were present on the occasion.
