Prayagraj: The Performing Summer Children’s Workshop, organized by the North Central Zone Cultural Center, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, began on Wednesday with the lighting of a lamp in the center’s auditorium. The program was jointly inaugurated by Center Deputy Director Dr. Mukesh Upadhyay, Program Advisor Kalpana Sahay, and the instructors.

On this occasion, Dr. Mukesh Upadhyay said that like every year, this year too the workshop is being organized with the aim of developing interest in art and culture among children and encouraging their creative abilities. Through the workshop, participants will be introduced to various forms of Indian folk and classical arts. Center Director Sudesh Sharma said that about 210 participants have enthusiastically participated in various forms of the workshop. The workshop is being organized every day from 8 am to 11 am. In this, the selected participants are being trained in theatre, sculpture, handicraft, Dhedhiya folk dance, Kathak, painting, Bharatnatyam and Dandiya folk dance by experienced trainers.
