Scientific symposium on prevention of heat stroke organised
Prayagraj: The Ideal Homeopathic Welfare Organization, Prayagraj, organized a scientific symposium at a hotel in Rambagh. The symposium discussed in detail how to prevent heat stroke during the summer season. Dr. Bhanwar Singh, the chief guest of the symposium and a member of the organization’s national executive committee, said that prolonged exposure to intense heat can cause the body temperature to rise significantly, a condition known as heatstroke. He explained that the main symptoms include sudden weakness, severe headache, vomiting and diarrhea, fainting, red-hot and dry skin, lack of sweating, and muscle cramps.
While explaining the preventive measures, Dr. Singh said that unless it is very necessary, do not go out in the scorching sun. If you have to go out, take a towel or umbrella with you. Keep the body hydrated, drink lemon water before leaving the house and keep a water bottle with you. Drink water immediately if you feel thirsty. Wear light colored cotton clothes. Eat more seasonal fruits and drinks like watermelon, cucumber, orange, mango panna, coconut water, buttermilk, curd. He said that onion and mint are very effective in preventing heat stroke. Eat raw onion in breakfast or lunch.
