Prayagraj: In view of public interest and severe heatwave, teachers’ persuaded junior doctors to end strike against unilateral action of the administration. Medical Teachers’ Association (MTA) of Motilal Nehru (MLN) Medical College, Prayagraj, informed that in light of the current heatwave, the health needs of patients, and the broader public interest, the medical college faculty has taken responsibility and successfully negotiated with the junior residents (junior doctors). Following the teachers’ persuasion and in keeping with the interests of patients, the junior doctors have ended their strike with immediate effect. All medical services have been restored smoothly at the hospital to ensure that the public is not inconvenienced during this critical time.

However, the Medical Teachers’ Association also wishes to state clearly and strongly that junior doctors are the backbone of our medical family. If any unilateral, repressive, or unfair action is taken by the police or district administration against our junior doctors in connection with the recent events, the teachers will not stand idle. If junior doctors are harassed by the administration, the Medical Teachers Association will be fully committed to taking all necessary and strict measures to protect its junior doctors. The police and district administration will be solely responsible for any disruption that may arise in such a situation.

They urge the administration to resolve this entire issue through fairness, sensitivity, and positive dialogue, informed Dr. Dilip Chaurasia (President) Medical Teachers Association (MTA) M.L.N. Medical College and Dr. Santosh Singh (Secretary) Medical Teachers Association (MTA) M.L.N. Medical College, Prayagraj.
