Prayagraj: In accordance with the directives of the Railway Board, North Central Railway (NCR) is organizing a World Environment Day campaign from May 15 to June 05, 2026. The central theme for this year’s World Environment Day campaign is “Climate Change”. As part of this initiative, a special Shramdaan program was organized at the Railgaon Colony on May 22, 2026, aimed at raising environmental awareness. The event saw active participation from Shri Naresh Pal Singh, General Manager of NCR, along with Shri Anil Kumar Dwivedi, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer (PCME), various Heads of Departments, officers, and staff members, who joined hands to clean the colony premises by removing garbage, plastic waste, and dry leaves.
Following the cleanup drive, the General Manager delivered an inspiring message, urging everyone to remain deeply sensitive toward environmental protection and climate change. He emphasized the importance of eliminating the use of plastic, contributing actively to the conservation of natural resources, and undertaking extensive tree plantation drives. Expressing his gratitude, the Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer thanked all the participants for their dedicated involvement in the Shramdaan program.
A wide array of awareness activities and events are being lined up throughout this month-long campaign, including various competitions, seminars, street plays (Nukkad Nataks), mass plantation drives, and the distribution of cloth bags to discourage plastic use. The entire event was successfully coordinated by a team of supervisors under the leadership of Shri Manish Kumar, Chief Environment and Housekeeping Manager.
