Prayagraj: Professor Rajendra Singh (Raju Bhaiya) University, Prayagraj, organized a grand tree planting and environmental awareness program on the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5, 2026. On this occasion, various activities were organized to enhance greenery on the university campus and raise awareness about environmental conservation.

The program was inaugurated by the Honorable Vice Chancellor by planting a tree. Following this, cadets from the 17th UP Battalion NCC enthusiastically planted various species of plants on the campus. Inspired by the cadets’ initiative, other students also actively participated and made the tree planting campaign a success.

Following the tree planting program, all cadets and students gathered in the university’s academic building, where a special lecture was held. The keynote speaker was Professor N.B. Singh, former Head of the Department of Botany at Allahabad Central University and renowned scientist, also known as the “Greenery Guru.” In his address, he elaborated on the importance of trees, biodiversity conservation, and environmental balance.

 Dean of Arts, Prof. Vivek Kumar Singh, and Assistant Professor of the Hindi Department, Dr. Alka Prakash, also shared their thoughts on the importance of World Environment Day.

The program was conducted by Dr. Utkarsh Upadhyay, and the vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Divya Dwivedi. The large attendance of students made the program a success and impactful. This event proved to be an important and inspiring initiative toward raising awareness about environmental protection.
