Prayagraj. Sandeep Agrahari, patron of Agrahari Vaishya Samaj, Prayagraj, has expressed serious objection to the so-called “Core Committee” meeting held on June 7, 2026, in a private hotel in Civil Lines, and the nomination/formation of office bearers made therein, calling it completely unconstitutional, undemocratic and contrary to the established traditions of the society. Mr. Agrahari stated that he was not given any prior notice of the meeting, nor were the majority of the community’s members, office bearers, and active workers informed. The closed-door committee formation process, without taking a broad section of society into confidence and without open and transparent discussions, raises questions about the democratic system of society.
He said that the Agrahari Vaishya community has a proud tradition of making important decisions related to the community with the participation and consent of the maximum number of members. In the past, various committees and office bearers have been selected in an open environment in the presence of community members, maintaining transparency and fairness. However, this time, the nomination process, conducted behind closed doors in the presence of a limited number of people, is inconsistent with the community’s constitution, its dignity, and the spirit of democratic values.
Mr. Agrahari stated that the strength of any organization depends on its constitution, rules, and the trust of its members. If a few individuals make unilateral decisions, excluding the majority of society from the process, it will lead to confusion, dissatisfaction, and division within society, which cannot be considered in the public interest. The unity and dignity of society can only be preserved when every member has an equal opportunity to express their views and choose their leadership.
He clarified that he is fully committed to the unity, dignity, and prestige of society and will not allow any individual or group to undermine its democratic traditions. He will present his case before the Honorable Court and other competent authorities to protect society’s dignity and the legal system and will take necessary legal action.
Mr. Agrahari further stated that the selection of office bearers for a prestigious organization like the Agrahari Vaishya Samaj should not be done through a closed room, a limited group, or a nomination process, but through an open, fair, transparent, and democratic election attended by all eligible members of the community. He stated that the true leadership of the community will be considered to be one chosen by the community members themselves through their own voting rights, not one unilaterally declared by a few individuals.
They demanded that the new executive and committee of the society be formed through a public election held solely among the members of the society, in which every eligible member has an equal opportunity to vote and anyone interested has an equal opportunity to contest. The entire election process should be transparent, with all members given prior notice, and the leadership should be selected by open vote before the society, so that no disputes or doubts arise.
Mr. Agrahari stated that the Agrahari Vaishya Samaj is not a private organization of any individual or group, but rather a social organization built on the faith, trust, and participation of thousands of community members. Therefore, only those individuals who have the community’s open support should hold its positions. The only way to secure the community’s unity, respect, transparency, and future is through free, fair, and open elections, and every conscious member of the community will remain committed to protecting this right.
Finally, he appealed to all members of the community not to be influenced by any misleading propaganda and to cooperate in maintaining the community’s unity, transparency, fairness, and democratic traditions. He said that the community’s formation and operation should always be based on law, rules, and the participation of all members, only then can the organization’s dignity, credibility, and social standing remain intact.
