New Rotary team for 2026-27 season takes over with service, dedication, and commitment to “Create Lasting Impact”
Prayagraj: The Rotary Club of Prayagraj Platinum’s installation ceremony was held in a grand manner at Hotel Rama Continental in Civil Lines, in accordance with Rotary traditions and protocol. At the ceremony, Rotarian Ajay Sharma assumed his responsibilities as President, Rotarian Pramay Mittal as Secretary, and Rotarian Apoorva as Treasurer for the 2026-27 Rotary session. Along with them, the club’s 22 Board of Directors also assumed office.
The program began with the lighting of a lamp and the singing of the national anthem. Chief guest Rotarian Poonam Gulati, District President of Rotary District 3120, along with former district presidents, former presidents, charter presidents, and special guests, lit the lamp to open the ceremony.
The program was conducted by Rotarians Ekta Talwar, Aarti Agarwal, and Charter President Rotarian Ritesh Singh. First, Divisional President Rotarian Poonam Gulati, former President Rotarian Dr. Prateek Pandey, and former Secretary CA Sanjay Talwar were honored with collars. Following this, all the guests, including Assistant Governor Rotarian Mandeep Srivastava and DGRH Rotarian Saurabh Puri, were seated on the stage.
Former President Rotarians Piyush Ranjan Agarwal, Nitin Chopra and Sandeep Jain welcomed the Chief Guest, former District Presidents, Presidents and Secretaries of various Rotary Clubs and all the distinguished guests. The former President and former Secretary presented a detailed report of the service work and achievements done by the club in the Rotary session 2025-26. In the awards ceremony held recently in Varanasi, Rotary Prayagraj Platinum was honored with many prestigious awards including Diamond President, Diamond Secretary, Diamond Club for its excellent service work.
After this, the former President and Secretary handed over the charge to Rotary Session 2026-27 President Rotarian Ajay Sharma and Secretary Rotarian Pramay Mittal and wished the new team by exchanging collars in the traditional manner. Treasurer Rotarian Apoorva introduced the newly appointed President. Newly appointed President Rotarian Ajay Sharma, while taking charge of the club, gave information about the service projects to be undertaken in the coming year. He said that the club will continuously strive to provide service to the needy by doing effective work in the field of education, health, environmental protection, youth empowerment and social service. After this, he expanded his new team and assigned responsibilities to all 22 board members.
Chief guest, District President Rotarian Poonam Gulati, said in her address that Rotary is not just an organization but a family of people united by a spirit of service. Praising the service work of Rotary Prayagraj Platinum, she said that the club has distinguished itself in the field of service and organization in a short time, and the new team will be successful in establishing a lasting impact on society. Assistant Governor Rotarian Mandeep Srivastava said that Rotary Prayagraj Platinum has always played an active role in the district activities and under the leadership of the new team the club will set new dimensions of service.
DGRH Rotarian Saurabh Puri motivated the members to participate more in service activities and highlighted the global service work being done through Rotary Foundation.
At the ceremony, the club inducted 19 new members into the Rotary family. Rotarian Sandeep Katyal and the former president administered the oath to the new members. The district president, former district president, and senior Rotarians conferred membership upon them by presenting them with stoles and affixing Rotary pins. Chief guest, District President Rotarian Poonam Gulati, was introduced by Rotarian Uphar Jaiswal. The Platinum family honored all distinguished guests with stoles and bouquets. The welcome committee greeted all guests with a sandalwood tilak. At the end of the program, Secretary Rotarian Pramay Mittal gave information about the upcoming service projects to be held in the month of July and shared birthday and wedding anniversary wishes of the members.
He explained that on July 1, 2026, the first day of the Rotary season, the club made a strong start by successfully completing five service projects assigned by District 3120. These included a blood donation camp, the National Doctors’ Day Awards, the National Chartered Accountants’ Day Awards, the induction of four new members, and a PHF contribution to The Rotary Foundation. The club further strengthened its spirit of service and cooperation by contributing $300 to PHF. This achievement reflects the club’s activism, team spirit, and commitment to “Create Lasting Impact.”
Media in-charge Rotarian Manish Garg said that Rotary Prayagraj Platinum continues to work with a spirit of service, friendship, and social responsibility. Each club project is undertaken with the aim of bringing positive change to society and spreading Rotary’s message of service to the public. A vote of thanks was delivered by Rotarian Sharad Jain. Finally, President Rotarian Ajay Sharma expressed his gratitude to everyone and declared the meeting closed.
