Prayagraj: In a statement, Rajnikant Srivastava, provincial coordinator of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s NGO cell, Kashi Province, said that Lord Shri Ram symbolizes the faith, dignity, culture, and national consciousness of millions of Indians. The magnificent temple built at Shri Ram’s birthplace is the result of centuries of struggle, the penance of saints, the dedication of millions of Kar Sevaks and workers, and the unwavering faith of millions of Ram devotees. It should not be seen as the achievement of any one person, party, or organization, but as the cultural heritage of the nation.
He said that in a democratic system, if an individual is accused of something or has committed an inappropriate act, that individual should be held accountable. Questioning an entire organization, ideology, or millions of workers based on the alleged actions of one or a few individuals is not in keeping with justice and democratic values.
Rajnikanth Srivastava said that some people, who had no direct connection to the long struggle of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement, are now attempting to create unnecessary controversy on this issue. He said that political differences may exist, but respecting the faith of millions of people is the responsibility of every citizen and public representative.
He also stated that equal sensitivity is expected on all issues in public life. He questioned whether such leaders have shown similar outspokenness on other important social and religious issues in the country. Have they? Such issues should also be considered and discussed with equal seriousness and sensitivity. He urged all those involved in public life to introspect and promote harmony, dignity, and positive discourse in society.
Finally, Rajnikanth Srivastava said that in democracy the final decision is of the people and he has full faith that in future also the people of the state will give their mandate keeping in mind the national interest, development, cultural heritage and good governance.
