Allahabad Tax Bar Association’s AGM-2026 meeting was held yesterday at Hotel Legacy in Civil Lines. Election Officer Mr. Agam Prakash Satsangi announced the completion of the Bar elections and the elected office bearers, administering the oath of office. Former President Mr. K.K. Gupta and his team were thanked and bid farewell, and the new team assumed office under the leadership of Mr. Rajnikant Srivastava. On this occasion, the Bar’s Treasurer presented the Bar’s accounts, and the General Secretary shared his Bar’s achievements. This year, the Presidents of the District Tax Bar Association and the Tax Bar Association, Mr. Dinesh Mishra, Mr. Sushil Agarwal, and their General Secretary were also cordially invited to AGM-26. Senior and founding member of the Bar, Mr. NC Gupta, blessed the newly elected office bearers and wished them a bright future. He also informed the members about the difficulties faced by the GST Tribunal and called on the presidents of the other two Bar Associations and the Uttar Pradesh Tax Advocates Association (UPKAS) to join forces to resolve these issues. The system of registration of advocates with the GST Tribunal was opposed, stating that it was against the Advocates Act and citing Articles 279A and 246A of the Constitution, and demanding that advocate registration with the Tribunal be revoked immediately. A demand was also made to simplify the GST Tribunal fee of Rs. 5,000 and the mandatory 20% deposit. Finally, former President Mr. K.K. Gupta thanked all the members and his team for their tireless efforts under his leadership to elevate the Bar to new heights and expected the new President to complete the unfinished tasks left by him. Present at the AGM were RK Agarwal, VK Pandey, Lalchand Jaiswal, Vinod Srivastava, Vinod Singh, Sharad Goyal, Roopnath, Anurag, Dilip Yadav, Mo Zaid, Sanjeev and Santosh Upadhyay, Anil Srivastava, Mo Mahmood, Ajay Shukla, Himanshu, Rahul, Vimal Mishra, and other members, as well as Upkas member Mr. Vipin Singh and invited Mr. Naveen Singh Chauhan. Sharad Goyal conducted the meeting.
