Prayagraj: The North Central Zone Cultural Centre, Ministry of Culture, Government of India will organize a tribute meeting in the sacred memory of the late Pandavani singer Teejan Bai, a great devotee of folk culture and Padma Vibhushan awardee, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 4:30 pm in the centre premises.

Center Director Sudesh Sharma stated that, in accordance with Teejan Bai’s family traditions and religious customs, her ashes will be immersed at the Triveni Sangam. In accordance with this tradition, her family members will arrive in Prayagraj on Sunday with the ashes. Before the immersion, a heartfelt tribute will be paid to her at a condolence meeting held at the North Central Zone Cultural Center campus.

Artists will perform bhajans at the tribute meeting. Artists, writers, cultural workers, dignitaries, and admirers of Teejan Bai will attend the event to pay their respects.

It is noteworthy that world famous Pandavani singer and Padma Vibhushan awardee Teejan Bai died on 5 July 2026 at the age of 70 in AIIMS Hospital, Raipur.
