Univ to Award 26 Gold Medals on July 17, Degrees to Be Conferred on over 30k Learners

.PRAYAGRAJ: The 21st Convocation of Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Prayagraj, will be held on July 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Atal Auditorium located on the University’s Saraswati Campus. The Convocation will be presided over by the Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Chancellor of the University Anandiben Patel. Padma Malini Awasthi, renowned Indian classical and folk singer, will deliver the Convocation Address as the Chief Guest. Yogendra Upadhyay, Minister for Higher Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh and Rajni Tiwari, Minister of State for Higher Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh, will attend the ceremony as distinguished guests.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Satyakam said that a total of 26 gold medals will be awarded to learners securing the highest marks in different Schools of Studies. Of these, 20 gold medals will be awarded to female learners and 06 to male learners. Degrees will be conferred on 30,886 learners who successfully completed their examinations in the December 2025 and June 2026 sessions. The recipients include 17,778 male learners and 13,098 female learners. The degrees will also be uploaded to DigiLocker for digital access and distribution. Prof. Satyakam informed that all the necessary arrangements for the Convocation at the Atal Auditorium have been completed. Nearly 2,000 learners have registered online to receive their degrees during the ceremony. The Convocation will be conducted in traditional Indian attire.

Prof. Satyakam told that the Chancellor’s Gold Medal will be awarded to Ms. Ramya Singh, a Bachelor of Science learner from the Dev Indravati Mahavidyalaya Study Centre, Ambedkar Nagar. Singh passed the B.Sc. examination in the First Division and emerged as the best-performing learner among all successful undergraduate and postgraduate candidates across the University’s Schools of Studies. it is noticeable that she will receive the highest number of medals at the Convocation, with a total of four gold medals.
