Appeared in royal style to give darshan to devotees
Prayagraj: Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra was taken out on Thursday. Lord Jagannath was riding on a 20 feet high, 14 feet wide, 16-wheeled Nadi Ghosh chariot, which was adorned with the Mohini flag of Trilok and the Neel Chakra, which was brought from Jagannath Puri Dham. In which two parrots, symbolizing love and devotion, were seated on the top of the chariot and four white horses as a symbol of truth, religion, justice and karma. Lord Jagannath, brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra were wearing a dress studded with runes and a gold and silver crown studded with peacock feathers from Rajasthan. Lord Jagannath was holding a lotus flower, mace, chakra and brother Balabhadra was holding a plough in his hands. In the Rath Yatra, devotees were pulling the chariot with a rope called 100 feet long Nag Vasuki. There was a competition among women and children in pulling the chariot.
Before this, Aarti of Lord Jagannath ji was performed. Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, former Mayor Abhilasha Gupta Nandi, Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani, MLA Harshvardhan Bajpai, Uday Pratap Singh, MP Ujjwal Raman Singh, MLA, several dozen councilors, trust members and devotees participated in the Aarti.
The Rath Yatra will commence from Hatkeshwar Temple and will pass through SC Basu Road, Chameli Bai Dharamshala, Hewett Road, Johnson Ganj, Clock Tower, Batasha Mandi, Bahadurganj, Sulaki Square, Ram Bhawan, Mutthiganj, Sattichoura, Balua Ghat, Katghar and will halt at Prayageshwar Nath Temple Jagannath Dham Kashiraj Nagar Katghar.
The Rath Yatra included Dhol Tasha Party, Pipe Band Party, Damru Players, Nagada Players, Road Lights, dozens of DJs, many tableaux were included in which prominently the royal court of Jagannath Ji, Ganesh Ji, Varun Ji and Mata Gudicha, Rani Lakshmi Bai, tableaux of great men were included, many tableaux of artists from Ayodhya Vrindavan were also included which were enthralling the devotees.
Durga Prasad Gupta, Gagan Das Gupta, Jai Ram Gupta, Rajesh Kesarwani, Pandit Digambar Nath Tripathi, Vijay Chaurasia, Gauri Shankar Verma, Bharat Kanaujia, Shagun Bhaiya Kalpana Rajul Sharma, several MLAs, dozens of councillors and a large number of devotees participated in the Rath Yatra. Throughout the route, cold water, sherbet, cold drinks and many other food items were being given to the devotees as Prasad.
The police administration was busy in traffic management and security arrangements since morning. ACP of Kotwali area Ravi Kumar Gupta, Kotwali in-charge Kapil Kumar Chahal, police of all the police stations and outposts were busy in ensuring the safe completion of the Rath Yatra. People of Civil Defence, Aamir Dabar were assisting the administration.
