Issues of public interest and business interest raised in Prayagraj Vyapar Mandal meet
Prayagraj: An important meeting of the Prayagraj Chamber of Commerce was held at the Maya Shri Complex in Chowk. District President Sushant Kumar Kesarwani presided over the meeting and Chowk President Sanjeev Mehrotra conducted the proceedings.
The meeting praised the grandeur and success of the recently concluded Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra, stating that the dignity of religious events and the faith of devotees are paramount. Speakers also noted that the use of high-demonstration DJs and large generators in the densely populated Old City causes serious inconvenience to citizens, business owners, the elderly, children, and patients. In such a situation, the possibility of an untoward incident cannot be ruled out.
Trade Board patron Ramji Kesarwani said that religion is a matter of our faith and should not be ostentatious. All religious festivals and processions should be conducted with simplicity, devotion, discipline, and dignity. The spirit of devotion and service is the true identity of religious events.
The meeting also expressed concern that in some processions, minor children were seen standing in front of vehicles and in other hazardous locations, posing a serious risk in the event of an accident. The administration was urged to strictly enforce safety standards in such cases. The Chamber of Commerce urged the administration to strictly enforce noise pollution standards for religious and social processions in the Old City and to effectively control high-capacity, ear-splitting DJs. It also suggested that all religious processions and major events in the Old City be held between 9:00 pm and 12:00 am, ensuring ease of viewing for devotees, relief from unnecessary traffic jams in the markets, and minimizing inconvenience to business and the general public.
Metropolitan President Santosh Gupta, Councilor Sunita Chopra, District General Secretary Prashant Pandey, Anand Ji Tandon, Saurabh Gupta, Shyam Kesarwani, Sharad Bhai Rangwale, Chandra Mohan Kasera, Brijesh Chaurasia, Brijesh Sidhana, Ashish Kesarwani, Seebu Mahajan, Rohit Kasera, Arjun Kapoor, Sanjeev Gupta, Raja Belt and Kunal Kesarwani along with a large number of traders were present in the meeting.
