Prayagraj: The ashes of Smt. Shanti Devi Vora (91), wife of  former Governor of Uttar Pradesh and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Moti Lal Vora were immersed in the sacred confluence (Sangam) of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers amid Vedic chanting and traditional rituals.

Her son, former Minister of Chhattisgarh,Arun Vora arrived at the Sangam around 12 noon along with family members, carrying the urn from Durg district of Chhattisgarh. Congress leaders paid floral tributes to the urn before the immersion ceremony.

The religious rituals were performed by Pt. Sushil Gaur, who conducted the traditional prayers and rites before the ashes were immersed in the holy Sangam. City  President Fuzail Hashmi, Gangapar President Ashfaq Ahmad, Mukund Tiwari, Kishore Varshney, Harikesh Tripathi, Manas Shukla, Devaraj Upadhyay, Pratima Tripathi, Ram Manorath Saroj, Deepchand Sharma, and others were present.
