Uttar Pradesh Government’s Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, who got a new life after defeating death in a deadly RDX attack in 2010, celebrated his 16th rebirth anniversary on Sunday. Minister Nandi expressed his gratitude by performing Rudrabhishek puja of Lord Bholenath at the ancient Manokamnapurti Shiv Temple in Bahadurganj along with former Mayor of Prayagraj Mrs. Abhilasha Gupta Nandi and family members, workers and supporters. He also prayed for public welfare. Former Mayor Abhilasha Gupta Nandi also bowed down and expressed her gratitude for the revival of Minister Nandi.
A large number of people took prasad at the feast organized during this time. Entrepreneurs, businessmen and special guests sent their best wishes to him. Traders across the state, including Prayagraj, celebrated the re-birth anniversary of Minister Nandi. This day was named Courage Day. Along with worship in Shiva temples, feasts were also organized at various places. A large number of people arrived from nearby districts as well as other districts and various areas of the state.
Sixteen years ago, it was July 12, 2010. Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, the current state cabinet minister, was attacked with a remote-controlled RDX bomb in Bahadurganj, a city district. A security guard and a journalist were killed. Minister Nandi was seriously injured in the bomb blast. With the love and blessings of thousands of supporters and admirers, he recovered after four months of continuous treatment. Since then, Minister Nandi has celebrated his “recovered birthday” every year on July 12.
180 students chanted the mantra: 180 students from Shri Durga Devi Higher Secondary School, Manjhanpur, Kaushambi, also participated in the Rudrabhishek Pujan at the celebration of Minister Nandi’s re-birth anniversary. They chanted mantras along with the recitation of Swasti Vachan. Minister Nandi left for the temple from his residence in Bahadurganj with a Kalash (pot) on his head for the puja. During this time, the students continued chanting mantras. Former Mayor of Prayagraj, Abhilasha Gupta Nandi welcomed the students and took their blessings.
Baby kits distributed to 30 newborn girls: On the occasion of the re-birth anniversary of Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, baby kits were distributed to 30 newborn girls born at Swarup Rani Medical College. Their mothers were given Nandi products.
On this occasion, more than 30 newborn daughters and their families were honoured.
Dr. Neelam Singh (SIC, SRN Hospital), Mrs. Smita Agarwal, Gaurav Virendra Agarwal, Dr. Ghulam ji (SRN), Dr. Tandon, Avantika Tandon (District Women’s Business Board) and Pallavi Arora were present in the program.
The event was successfully coordinated and conducted by Gaurav Virendra Agarwal. He stated that the goal of this initiative is to celebrate the birth of every newborn girl with respect, affection, and celebration, further strengthening the message of positive thinking and equality for girls in society.
Resurrected in service: After his revival, Minister Nandi dedicated his life to serving the people. To empower the women and daughters of his constituency to become self-reliant, Minister Nandi has been conducting free beautician and sewing courses in Naini and Gangotri Nagar for the past 10 years. More than 1,200 women and daughters have completed sewing, embroidery, and knitting courses there.
The Nandi Seva Sansthan has provided sewing machines to 131 women and daughters of the Prayagraj City South Assembly constituency. With their help, they are becoming self-reliant by sewing. Minister Nandi is providing financial assistance of 10,000 rupees per month to two dozen families whose primary source of livelihood has been snatched away. Since 2010, financial assistance has been provided for the marriages of nearly 10,000 daughters, and refined flour, and kilograms of sugar have been provided for the thirteenth-day feasts of over 6,000 people. At the Mother’s Kitchen, run at Swarup Rani Nehru Hospital, patients and their attendants are being provided a full meal for just nine rupees. Around 900 to 1000 people eat each day.
Ministers attended: Cabinet Minister Baby Rani Maurya, Minister of State Narendra Kashyap, Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission Vice President Aparna Yadav, MP Rita Praveen Patel, former MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi, MLA Deepak Patel as well as film director Abhishek Agarwal also attended the birth anniversary celebrations of Minister Nandi.
Foreign guests also attended: Young entrepreneurs from London and Spain attended Minister Nandi’s birthday celebrations. A group of nine foreign guests arrived in Prayagraj and participated in the Rudrabhishek Pujan organized by Minister Nandi.

In the Bhajan Sandhya organized on the recovered birth anniversary of Minister Nandi, people danced to the bhajans of the country’s famous bhajan singer Hansraj Raghuvanshi. Chanting the praises of Bholenath, Hansraj Raghuvanshi sang the first bhajan “Mera Bhola Hai Bhandari Kare Nandi Ki Sawari…” as soon as he sang it, people started dancing. People chanted the praises of Lord Bholenath. After this, he presented his special bhajans like Shiva is present in me and I am becoming void…, Bholenath played the Damru in such a way that the entire Kailash mountain was engrossed…, Namah to the devotee’s love, Namah to Sheeshkathaay…, Kedara Kedara, we have been with him for many births…, the era of Ram Rajya has come, today’s auspicious day has come.
Singer Swati Mishra, who gained fame with the song “Ram Aayenge To Angna Sajaungi,” sang “Jas soon as my hut’s parts will open, Ram will come” from the stage, filling the entire atmosphere with Ram. In addition, the Rahasya Band and the Krishna Sanskar Bhajan Clubbing Group performed several hymns, including Krishna Radha Stuti.
