Prayagraj: Former Allahabad University student leader Advocate Rajneesh Singh Rishu, along with hundreds of his supporters, joined the Congress party. Rishu formally joined the party during a preparatory meeting for the Congress’s “Chhatra Ki Goonj” held this afternoon at the Shankar Lal Memorial Auditorium. In-charge General Secretary Rajendra Pal Gautam presented him with the party’s badge, and State President Ajay Rai presented him with a membership certificate. He stated that he joined the Congress party inspired by Rahul Gandhi’s nationwide fight for students and youth and the party’s policies. He stated that he would make every effort to strengthen the party. Member of Parliament Ujjwal Raman Singh, former MLAs Anugrah Narayan Singh and Vijay Prakash, city president Fuzail Hashmi, Shekhar Bahuguna, Kishore Varshney, Harikesh Tripathi, Mukund Tiwari, Vivekanand Pathak, and Parvez Siddiqui were present.
