Prayagraj: Kidganj police have arrested two notorious criminals involved in mobile thefts. Three stolen mobile phones and a stolen Splendor motorcycle were recovered from their possession. During interrogation, both confessed that they used to roam around the city on stolen bikes and snatch mobile phones from passersby in deserted places. After this, they used to format the mobile phones and sell them at cheap prices.
Under the direction of the Police Commissioner, as part of the ongoing campaign against criminals, under the supervision of DCP Nagar and ACP Colonelganj, under the direction of Inspector Pritam Kumar Tiwari, the team of SI Prince Rathi laid a siege near a peepal tree near the Parade Ground Interlocking Road and arrested the two accused. They were identified as Vivek Kumar, a resident of Dewankheda in the Asoha police station area of Unnao, and Brijesh Adivasi, a resident of Bariyari Kharhara in Koraon. According to the police, a stolen Vivo mobile phone, two other Oppo and Redmi mobile phones, and a stolen Splendor Plus motorcycle were recovered from their possession. Based on these seizures, new charges have been added to the case.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that they roamed the city on stolen bikes and, whenever they got a chance, snatched mobile phones from passersby and fled. Later, they formatted the mobile phones and sold them for a low price. Both also admitted that they had been to jail several times before, but returned to crime after being released.
According to the police, both accused already have several cases registered against them at the Kidganj and Daraganj police stations for theft, robbery, and possession of stolen goods. Both were produced in court and sent to jail.
