Northern Academy finished runners-up in Next Gen Youth Cup Under-13 football competition

Prayagraj: Northern Football Academy of Prayagraj got the honour of being the runner-up in the All India Next Generation Youth Cup Under 13 Football Competition organized by Punjab Sporting Football Academy under the aegis of Punjab Football Association, which is being played at the football ground of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Punjab.

According to head coach Indranil Ghosh, in the Under-13 group, Northern Football Academy defeated Gurpreet Football Academy Pathankot 2-0 in a one-on-one match in their final league match. A total of 6 teams participated in this league competition, in which Northern Academy finished runners-up with 3 wins and 2 draws in 6 matches and finished second in the points table. Utkarsh Gupta and Param scored one goal each for Northern in the second half of the game.

The chief guest presented the winner’s trophy and Rs 20,000 to Punjab Sporting Football Academy and the runner-up trophy and Rs 10,000 to Northern Football Academy.
