(Hindi), Professor and Head of Hindi Department, Government Degree College, Latifnagar, Lucknow and former Chairman of Secondary Education Service Selection Board, Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh). Former Chairman of the Selection Commission, Dr RP Verma, senior educationist Dr Rekha Verma, senior teacher leader Dr Hari Prakash Yadav, senior social worker Rajiv Kumar Mishra inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. Assistant teacher Mrs Nutan Yadav welcomed the guests.

Dr. RP Verma, former chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Service Selection Board, Prayagraj, and senior litterateur, said, “First of all, I salute you all on the birth anniversary of Goswami Tulsidas, a devoted devotee of Lord Shri Ram, a great saint, and author of the Shri Ramcharitmanas. Through his timeless works, he spread the message of devotion to Ram, religion, dignity, and humanity to every person. His literature is an invaluable heritage of our eternal culture, whose inspiration is the eternal truth.”

It will continue to lead the society on the path of public welfare, morality and truth till eternity.

Former president and senior litterateur Dr. RP Verma said that Goswami Tulsidas Jayanti is celebrated every year on the seventh day of the month of Shravan. According to the Hindu calendar, this day is considered sacred and auspicious. It marks the birth anniversary of the great saint Goswami Tulsidas, who composed the immortal and timeless work Ramcharitmanas. Ramcharitmanas conveyed religious sentiments to the masses in simple language and made the path of devotion accessible to the common people.

Former President and senior literary figure Dr. R.P. Verma said that anyone could write about Goswami Tulsi Baba in a lifetime. His works, his life, and his teachings are inexhaustible. Tulsi Baba was born and lived in Rajapur village, Uttar Pradesh, to Atmaram Dubey and his mother, Hulasi Devi, around 1532. Although the exact year and place of his birth are uncertain, legends say he was an incarnation of the sage Valmiki. He was born with 32 teeth in his mouth and, instead of crying, uttered his first word, “Ram.” This is why he was called Rambola. His parents abandoned him. A maidservant adopted him, but when Tulsidas was five years old, the maidservant died. Narharidas then adopted him and took him to Varaha Kshetra, where he first heard the Ramayana. This is where his religious and spiritual journey began. It was Narharidas who gave him the name Tulsidas.

Former President and senior litterateur Dr. R.P. Verma said, “The Path of Renunciation and Devotion: According to a famous story, Tulsidas deeply loved his wife. Once, when he ran to meet her, she said that if he had shown the same affection to Lord Rama, he would have attained salvation. This deeply touched his heart. He renounced everything and began an ascetic life in Prayag.”

The true meaning of remembering Goswami Tulsi Baba’s birthday is that on his birth anniversary, we resolve to follow the path shown by him in the Ramcharitmanas. Dr. Rekha Verma thanked the guests.
