Prayagraj: Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy on 5 September at Vicker Public Junior High School, Prayagraj, run by the Cantonment Board. The programme commenced with the morning prayer assembly. On this occasion, the Principal of the school, Mr. V. D. Shukla, along with the teachers, paid floral tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by garlanding his portrait and offering flowers. Thereafter, the teachers apprised the students about the life, ideals, and invaluable contribution of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan to the field of Indian education.
As part of this special occasion, the students took on the role of teachers and conducted classes, taking charge of the teaching activities. The students who worked as student-teachers shared their experiences and said that conducting a class as a teacher was a new and inspiring experience for them. Through this activity, the students got an opportunity to understand the duties, hard work, and responsibilities of teachers. During the programme, the students expressed their respect and affection towards their teachers by presenting them with beautiful handmade greeting cards and heartfelt Teachers’ Day wishes.
In his address, Principal Mr. V. D. Shukla motivated the students and highlighted the importance of respecting teachers and valuing their guidance. He also emphasized the significant role of teachers in nation-building and encouraged the students to always respect their teachers and continue learning from them. The programme concluded with the National Anthem. Thereafter, refreshments were arranged for all the students and teachers. The celebration strengthened the bond of respect, cooperation, and affection between students and teachers, making the occasion meaningful and memorable for everyone.
