Prayagraj: The office-bearers of the Morning Walkers Association conducted a plantation drive at Azad Park on Monday morning to promote environmental conservation. Under the leadership of Association President Kishore Varshney, the members planted 101 saplings.

Varshney said that the plantation drive was organised under the theme “Plant a Tree – Spread Thousands of Happiness.” Saplings of mango, neem, guava, jamun, ashwagandha, sheesham, tulsi and eucalyptus were planted. He said that trees are essential for sustaining life on Earth and play an important role in reducing rising temperatures and global warming, besides providing clean air and oxygen.

Dr. Ashok Gupta, Siya Ram Kesarwani, Ajay Mishra (Advocate), Dr. A.D. Dubey, Santosh Agrawal, Nitin Gupta, Dr. M. Kushwaha, D.P. Pandey, Rajesh Sahu, Shyam Agrawal, Awadhesh Tripathi, Pawan Kesarwani, Vijay Shankar Singh, G.S. Sarna, Ravindra Srivastava and Mukesh Swarnkar were present on the occasion.
