Prayagraj: The historic Dadhikando Fair at Sulem Sarai will be held on Sunday, September 13. On Monday, SDM Sadar Ankit Verma and ACP Dhoomanganj Ravi Kumar Gupta held a meeting with officials from the Fair Committee, Illumination Committee, and Outpost Committee.

In the meeting, officials listened to the problems of the fair area and gave instructions to complete all preparations on time. Chowki and DJ operators were instructed to play sound within the prescribed standards. Strict action was warned if the sound level exceeded the prescribed standards. Officials said that this is a religious fair and should be organized according to ancient traditions. All problems in the fair area will be resolved in time.

Demand for security: The fair committee submitted a memorandum to the SDM and ACP demanding tight security of the team and the fair. Fair chief Narendra Kheda stated that the Sulem Sarai Dadhikando fair is held in an area of ​​approximately 8 kilometers on the GT Road, from Mahila Gram Chaufatka to Begum Bazaar. It is the oldest and largest fair in the district, with a tradition dating back to 1890. Dhoomanganj is a highly sensitive area. For the past few years, lack of security has disrupted the procession for hours. DJ operators block roads due to competition.

The committee demanded that the procession depart from the Thakur Dwara Temple at Sherwani Mor at 8 p.m. and return to the temple via Sulem Sarai, Dhoomanganj, Transport Nagar, and Mundera Chungi. Inspectors, sub-inspectors, constables, and a company of the RAF be deployed for security, and police forces should remain present until the procession returns.

Along with this, from 5 pm on September 13 to 6 am on September 14, there was a demand to completely ban the movement of vehicles in the fair area and to ban two-wheelers from 5 pm by deploying police at Sherwani Mod, Pritam Nagar, Saket Nagar, Dhummanganj, Jhalwa, Meera Patti, Transport Nagar and Mundera Chungi Mod. Among those who gave the memorandum were Fair President Piyush Kesarwani, General Secretary Mukesh Sahu, Treasurer Ankur Rastogi, Fair Chief Virendra Kesarwani, Fair Incharge Subhash Kesarwani, Convener Piyush Jaiswal, Gyan Kesarwani, Sandeep Jaiswal, Rakesh Kesarwani along with officials of Chowki and Roshni Committee.
