Prayagraj: A tehsil-level boys’ kabaddi competition was held at R.P. Rastogi Intermediate College on Tuesday in three age groups: under-14, under-17, and under-19. Teams from 22 secondary schools in the tehsil area participated in the competition. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Virendra Singh, head of the physical education department at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Government College, and area councilor Mrs. Aarti Maurya.

Principal Dr. Lalji Yadav welcomed all the guests and participating teams at the event. Arvind Singh, Principal of Mewalal Ayodhya Prasad Inter College, Ravi Bhushan, Principal of Government Inter College Gohari, and Dr. Ajay Yadav of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Degree College were present as special guests. The program was presided over by former District Information Officer J.N. Yadav.

In the Under-19 category, the team of RP Rastogi Intermediate College defeated Janta Inter College, Mauaima and secured the first position. The results of the Under-14 and Under-17 categories are as follows: Under-14 winner: Vikramaditya Singh Inter College, Gorapur, Under-14 runner-up: Ayodhya Prasad Memorial Inter College, Singapore, Under-17 winner: PD Memorial Inter College, Prayagraj, Kripalpur, Under-17 runner-up: RP Rastogi Intermediate College, Prayagraj

On this occasion, the school also organized a poster and speech competition on the topic “India of My Dreams.” Five students from each competition were selected for the district-level competition.

Divisional Sports Secretary Mr. Rajkumar, Physical Education Teacher Ali Ahmed, Rajesh Kumar, Amar Singh, Bhim Patel, Anil, along with the school’s teachers and organizing committee, played a significant role in making the program a success. The competition fostered sportsmanship, discipline, team spirit, and a healthy competitive spirit among the students.
