Prayagraj: Demanding the unification of the two major organizations of advocates in the Allahabad High Court, the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) and the Advocate Association, High Court advocate Krishna Manohar Tiwari on Friday submitted a memorandum addressed to the High Court Bar Association President Rakesh Pandey Babua and General Secretary Akhilesh Kumar Sharma to the Bar Association Vice President Rajkumar Tripathi and Joint Secretary Press Rameshwar Dutt Pandey RD.
Through the memorandum, Advocate Krishna Manohar Tiwari demanded that, in accordance with the Bar Council of India’s “One Court, One Bar” principle, a historic unification of the two bar associations within the Allahabad High Court is the need of the hour, strengthening the collective voice of advocates and administrative coordination. Advocate Krishna Manohar Tiwari noted in his letter that the Allahabad High Court’s glorious tradition exemplifies the unity of great jurists and advocates. The associations established in 1873 and 1875 unified in 1957 to form the High Court Bar Association, while the Advocates’ Association was formed in 1994 due to special circumstances. The memorandum suggests convening a joint meeting of the office bearers and senior advocates of both organizations under the aegis of the Elders Committee to resolve the causes of the division through open dialogue between the advocates. It also proposes the formation of a special “Unification Committee” to unanimously formulate a model that protects the dignity and rights of all advocates. Advocate Krishna Manohar Tiwari expressed confidence that if this initiative is successful, it will set an example for the legal community across the country, and future generations will be blessed with a strong and united Bar Association. Vice President Rajkumar Tripathi, Joint Secretary Press Rameshwar Dutt Pandey RD, Executive Members Baldev Shukla, Girish Chandra Shukla, Avnish Chandra Tripathi, and others were present on the occasion.
