Prayagraj: Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir organised a Math session for the students of classes 11 and 12 on Friday. Keynote speaker Dr Swapnil Srivastava conducted the session. He is a Mathematics faculty member at Ewing Christian College, University of Allahabad, who also coordinates several key initiatives, including the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, India Space Week, Swaraj Vidyapeeth, and serves as an NSS Program Officer. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Dr Swapnil Srivastava, the Principal Alpona Dey and Senior Secondary Coordinator, Gopa Bhattacharyya and shloks chanted by the school choir. The Resource person was introduced to the audience by Addwait Shukla of 12Active. The objective of the session was to bridge the gap between textbook Mathematics and discover Mathematics even in one’s surroundings.

The key takeaway for the students was how to deal with unfamiliar mathematical problems with structured intuition and critical thinking. The session served as a strong motivation to the students of classes 11 and 12 to develop a passion and interest in Mathematics. The resource person asked questions that ignited the curiosity of the students and engaged them to think rather than accept given concepts.

The event was a resounding success, leaving the participants inspired by Dr. Srivastava’s deep expertise, pedagogical warmth, and dedication to nurturing mathematical talent. A token of gratitude was presented by the school Principal. The vote of thanks was extended by the Gopa Bhattacharyya who expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the keynote speaker, Dr. Swapnil Srivastava. She also requested him to conduct more such inspiring sessions for the students.
