Prayagraj: 500 trees were planted by Lions International through Club Ashok at United Medicity Rawatpur, a medical college in Prayagraj. Public Relations Officer (Media Incharge) Lalu Mittal informed that the program was organized at the call of Divisional Environment Chairperson Lion Mala Mishra. The inauguration took place in the Medicity premises by the hands of PID and Chief Guest PMJF Lion Dr. Jagdish Gulati. The coordinator of the massive tree plantation was MJF Lion Dr. Ajay Dhar Dubey, who played a key role in the tree planting program. The special guest was Deputy Divisional President First PMJF Lion Umesh Chand Kakkar, who in his address, made everyone aware of the importance of maintaining environmental balance through tree planting. MJF Lion Rajni Kakkar, Lion Mala Mishra Divisional Environment Chairperson, compared planting a tree to the birth of 100 children. In their remarks, trees provide timely rainfall, pure air in the form of oxygen, and absorb toxic carbon dioxide, providing nourishment for our lives. In such a situation, society should be sensitive towards it. Anjali Srivastava thanked Dr. Gulati for participating in the massive tree plantation program. Dr. Gulati has a dream of converting several acres of his land into a forest, keeping the environment in mind. This has been started a few years ago and will continue in the future. The coming times will benefit from lush greenery. In this program, Dr. Pramod, Director of Medicity, provided detailed information about future environmental tree plantations, including fruit-bearing forests, shade-only forests, and a forest that resembles a natural forest.

The program was attended by Lion Lalu Mittal, Divisional Chairperson for Hunger Lion Dhirendra Mishra, Club President Lion Arjun Chaudhary, Club Secretary Lion Sunil Shibar, Service Chairperson Lion Nisha Shibar, Zone Chairperson Lion Anjana Shukla, Region Chairperson Lion Gaurav Gupta, Lion Pooja Gupta, Co-Chairperson for Hunger Lion Mukul Srivastava, Co-Chairperson for Environment Lion Anjali Srivastava, junior and senior doctors from Medicity College. A large number of staff and employees were present. Lions International thanked the DFO of the Forest Department at Mankameshwar and his team for providing the saplings. Co-Chairperson Environment Anjali Srivastava encouraged all the Lions of Prayagraj for tree plantation and reached the work site and inspired them to serve. The entire service was completed by the Club’s Service Chairperson Lion Nisha Shibar after 1 month of hard work. After the tree plantation, Lion Dr Ajay Dhar Dubey thanked everyone.
