Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Journalist Welfare Council, a nationwide organization fighting for the welfare and well-being of journalists, has launched a campaign to restore the concessions and facilities that journalists have been receiving in the railways for the past six years. A memorandum addressed to the Railway Minister was submitted today to the Chief Public Relations Officer of North Central Railway, primarily demanding that the facilities previously provided to journalists in Indian Railways by the Central Government for the past six years were discontinued in March 2020 during Covid. Now that the situation is completely normal and it has been six years since these facilities were discontinued, the Railway Minister should restore these facilities to all accredited journalists traveling across India for media coverage. The delegation included Uttar Pradesh Journalist Welfare Council President Rashid Jamal, Vice President Arun Kumar Sonkar, Secretary Balram Shukla, District President Dinesh Tiwari, District Spokesperson Vidya Shankar Mishra, and senior journalist Dinesh Mishra.
