Prayagraj: A constant wave of thefts and attempted thefts has created an atmosphere of fear among residents of Gyan Kunj Colony, Parvati Nagar, Shantipuram, Phaphamau. Locals allege that for some time now, unknown thieves have been repeatedly entering the colony and attempting to commit thefts and robberies.
Residents reported each incident to Dial 112 and the Phaphamau police station. Despite this, due to a lack of effective action and regular police patrols, the same suspicious individuals are reappearing in the colony. Many incidents have also been captured on the colony’s CCTV cameras. Advocate Sanjeev Kumar Upadhyay, a resident of the colony, has also filed a complaint on the Chief Minister’s Public Hearing Portal, demanding regular police patrolling in the colony, identification and arrest of suspicious persons and ensuring the safety of the residents. The residents of the colony have appealed to the district administration and the police department to take immediate and effective action keeping in mind the public safety, so that any major criminal incident can be prevented in the future.
