Prayagraj: The general body meeting of the Mahamaya Barwari Pritam Nagar Durga Puja Committee was held on Tuesday at the White House, Saket Nagar. The meeting was chaired by committee president Gautam Banerjee. Detailed discussions were held to ensure a grand, divine, and historic Durga Puja for the upcoming 2026 Durga Puja. Various preparations, including pandal construction, puja arrangements, cultural programs, community feasts, security, and cleanliness, were discussed. Committee members also offered suggestions to improve the event. On this occasion, Gautam Banerjee was congratulated by the committee for being elected unopposed as president for 17 consecutive years. The new executive committee includes Sonu Gupta as senior vice president, Shashikant Kanaujia as general secretary, Vikrant Srivastava as treasurer, and Saroj Ranjan as deputy secretary. The patrons were Shailesh Srivastava, Manish Seth, Shobhit Madhyam, and Akhilesh Tiwari. Vinay Raghuvanshi was elected media in-charge, Manish Ghosh as chief patron, and Rajesh Gupta as president of the Chamber of Commerce. A large number of committee members, including Ravi Nishad, Mukesh Rai, Ravi Kumar, and Ashish Verma, were present at the meeting. Chairman Gautam Banerjee stated that this year’s Durga festival will be celebrated with unity, devotion, and joy. He appealed to devotees to participate enthusiastically in the event.
