Principal Dr. A.K. Verma led prog, concluding with laying of wreath at statue of immortal martyr Roshan Singh
Prayagraj: Motilal Nehru Medical College organized a grand Tiranga Yatra on Thursday as part of the “Tiranga in Every Home” campaign being run to mark Independence Day. Doctors, faculty members, nursing and paramedical students enthusiastically participated in the Yatra, holding the tricolor in their hands. Throughout the Yatra, slogans like “Bharat Mata ki Jai,” “Inquilab Zindabad,” and “Tiranga in Every Home Will Fly” filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervor.
The Tiranga Yatra began at 8 a.m. from the Principal’s office of Motilal Nehru Medical College. Principal Dr. A.K. Verma personally led the procession, inaugurating it. The procession departed from the Medical College campus via Medical Square and Mahatma Gandhi Marg, reaching the Swarup Rani Nehru Hospital campus. The procession concluded with the laying of wreaths and paying homage to the statue of freedom fighter Amar Shaheed Thakur Roshan Singh.
Principal Dr. A.K. Verma said that the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign is an opportunity to honor the national flag and remember the sacrifices and dedication of the fighters who gave their all for our country’s independence. Such events strengthen patriotism, national unity, and respect for our glorious history, especially among the younger generation.
The Tiranga Yatra was attended by Vice Principal Dr. Mohit Jain, Chief Superintendent Dr. Neelam Singh, Additional Chief Superintendent Dr. Jitendra Shukla, Dr. Anil Singh, Dr. Prabal Niyogi, Dr. Shyam Sundar, Dr. Vikram Nigam, Dr. Subiya Ansari, Dr. Reena Sachan, Dr. Manish Maurya, Dr. Anil Maurya, Dr. Krishna Pandey, Dr. Nishtha Singh and Dr. Bhavna Singh along with heads of various departments and a large number of faculty members.
Along with this, a large number of nursing and paramedical students also participated in the march, carrying the tricolor. The entire route from the Medical College to SRN Hospital was painted in patriotic colors, with the chants of students and doctors marching ahead with the national flag. Vice Principal Dr. Mohit Jain explained that this event is part of the “Tiranga in Every Home” campaign, running from August 6th to 15th. The Tiranga Yatra, along with expressing gratitude to freedom fighters, also spread the message of national unity, integrity, and patriotism in society.
