Became voice of marginalized, arranged marriages for over 450 differently-abled daughters

Prayagraj: Subhash Rathi, a patron of Anam Sneh, senior advocate and former Additional Chief Standing Counsel of the Allahabad High Court, passed away in New Delhi on September 6. Upon receiving the news of her death, a wave of mourning swept through Prayagraj’s social and legal organizations. On Monday morning, his son, advocate Rahul Rathi, brought the body to his Pritam Nagar residence in Prayagraj. A stream of well-wishers, social workers, advocates, and admirers lined the grounds of his residence and Rasulabad Ghat to pay their last respects. At Rasulabad Ghat, his son, Rahul Rathi, performed the last rites by lighting the funeral pyre.
In her social and advocacy career, Mrs. Subhash Rathi strongly raised the voice of those at the bottom of society. Over the past 19 years, through the Anam Sneh organization, she has accomplished remarkable work, arranging marriages for over 450 disabled daughters and providing mobile shops to thousands of disabled people, making them self-reliant and connecting them with the mainstream of society.
From 2002 to 2022, he served as Additional Chief Standing Counsel in the Allahabad High Court with complete honesty, integrity, and dedication. From the streets to the High Court, Subhash Rathi’s social concerns were also a key hallmark of his professional life.
Rajkumar Chopra, National President of the Lok Sevak Mandal, said that Subhash Rathi’s death is an irreparable loss to the social sector of Prayagraj. He said that his contributions to the needy and disabled will long be remembered.
Shrinarayan Yadav, coordinator of Anaam Sneh and a senior social worker and teacher, said, “This is a personal loss. Whether God exists or not is debatable, but there is no substitute for the loving Didi who nurtured us all with her love.”
Ravi Shankar Mishra, media in-charge of the Lok Sevak Mandal, said that Subhash Rathi’s life was dedicated to social service, justice, and human compassion. He said that Prayagraj has lost not only a senior social worker but also a strong guardian who always stood up for the weak and needy in society.
