Widow woman appeals to Police Commissioner for justice
Prayagraj: A prominent shopkeeper in the city borrowed ghee worth Rs 42L from a businessman and failed to pay him, leading to his death. His widow has repeatedly demanded his dues from the businessman, but is now facing death threats and threats to have her son-in-law disappear. The woman has appealed to the Police Commissioner for justice. In a complaint to the Police Commissioner, Mala Gupta, a resident of the Mutthiganj police station area, alleges that two years ago, her husband Anil Kumar was robbed of ghee worth Rs 42L by Bhaiji, a resident of the Kotwali police station area, who owns a shop named Bhagwan Das Prahlad Das, but failed to pay him, leading to his death. After his death, her son-in-law borrowed money from others and repaid the businessman, but Bhagwan Das’s owner has still not returned the outstanding amount. Mala Devi alleges that she has repeatedly approached Bhagwan Das’s owner to demand the outstanding payment, receiving threats that she will have her son-in-law disappeared and killed. The victim, Mala Devi, has appealed to the Police Commissioner for justice. She said that if she does not get her pending payment of Rs 42 lakh soon, she can go to any extent.
